The Safe Kids Weber-Morgan Coalition is hoping to combine fun and safety into one entertaining yet informational day.
The safe kids day event to be held Saturday, April 24, will include events to help children learn about stranger danger, bike and sport safety.
Popular kids characters Princess Amerah, McGruff the Crime Dog and several Star Wars characters will be at the event to help keep the children entertained when they're not taking part in one of the many activities that will be available.
There will be a bike rodeo to help teach the children safety tips for bicycle riding and a child I.D. kit making station. The child I.D. kit helps emergency personal identify children should they get kidnapped or lost.
There will also be a petting farm, bouncy slide, face painting, a magic show and the reptile show "Scales and Tails" giving children and parents alike plenty to keep them busy throughout the day.
Children and their parents will be able to explore antique fire trucks, as well as the ones that are used today, a Life Flight helicopter and police cars. Policemen, firemen, k-9 units and other emergency response units will all be on hand to answer questions and show their vehicles.
The event will be held at the Weber Country Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m and is free and open to the public.
